Brothers in Christ
This site is the combination of postings from David Dellacca and Scott Seibert – two Catholic men who pray that their words will bring other men closer to Christ. Today’s society offers many opportunities for Christian men to stray. The words, thoughts, prayers and reflections found here will cover current events, family, friendship, social issues and more. We don’t have all the answers, but collectively, maybe we can together grow in our relationship with Christ and recognize our calling.
David Dellacca, MS
David has lived in Indiana his whole life, but has had the opportunity to travel to four countries. A proud product of a family where both grandfathers served as Protestant ministers, his faith journey has taken him in many directions. He converted to the Catholic faith over 15 years ago.
David and his wife, Dee, were married in 2000. Since, they have become parents to four children, with the oldest being 10. David is a fan of Star Wars, superheroes and a few different genres of books including mysteries novels and biographies. He has been influenced by several leadership books and sources over the years and currently has his own time and leadership management system in draft form that he uses daily. Over time, in addition to the Bible, he feels most impacted by authors / speakers such as Dale Carnegie, Stephen Covey, Tim Robbins, Richard Bach, Og Mandino, Roger Fisher, William Ury and Dan Millman. David enjoys spending time on the water and with his family. The family spends a lot of time on their 10 acres of property which has been a labor of love for the past 6 years. He graduated from Ball State University, Cum Laude, with a dual major undergraduate degree in video production and education (State of Indiana K-12 teaching license). He also earned a Master of Science degree in Information and Communication Sciences from Ball State. These experiences and his faith has helped him and his family survive multiple job layoffs and challenging financial times. David is a part of this site because he feels that from it all, God is calling him to share his experiences and consequently his perspectives on being a man and living a Christian life in the face of adversity and today’s societal pressures.
David is a business professional / owner and educator who has provided lectures, training and education to audiences from kindergarten all the way thru workforce professionals on the topics of professional development, leadership, educational technology and the use of technology in business. David has taught undergraduate classes for two different higher education institutions, including serving as a full-time professor and Dean. His technology education research in the field of networking, security, wireless and data communications has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, which took him to a conference in Hawaii to present. David also has extensive experience serving as a sports coach and camp/orientation counselor to a wide range of young people.
David currently serves in the ministry role of Vice President of Technology for Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis, IN. This ministry affords David the opportunity to leverage his wide range of experiences in the education of students hailing mostly from the East Deanery of Indianapolis.
